Winter is not far away & here in the mid Atlantic we’re going to experience the freezing frost temperatures soon. We suggest you begin winterizing your home now, so you & your family are prepared. Winterizing tips –
Turn off & disconnect exterior hoses
Secure any crawlspace vents or exterior openings that lead indoors
If you have sprinklers, it’s a good idea to exert the water that is left sitting in the lines
Winter storms/Nor’Easters can bring strong gusts & heavy snowfall, make sure tree limbs are away from your home – call a tree grooming service now to cleanup potentially dangerous limbs near your roof or power lines
Seal space under your exterior doors to keep heat in & cold out
Have your chimneys inspected to ensure they are clean & working properly for your upcoming family fires Complete the insulation in your basement if you’ve been leaving it til the last minute Pests will want to take refuge in your home – make sure to check your attic screens & basement vents
